After the long wait, Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally here for the patient fans of this iconic action-role playing game. Kingdom Hearts has had a long and confusing road leading up to this but has finally made it to its official release of this monumental game. Many hardcore fans pre-ordered this highly anticipated game as soon as possible, and today’s release has established a new found confidence in Square Enix, and the future of their games, especially the anticipated remake of the monumentally iconic Final Fantasy VII.

Despite being called Kingdom Hearts 3, it is in fact the seventeenth game in the franchise and a sequel to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance which came out in March of 2012 on the Nintendo 3DS. However, the reason this is such a big deal is that Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally bringing a made for home console game back to the franchise. Despite all being under the name “Kingdom Hearts,” they have been spread all over the place from handheld to mobile and then later ported to home. So that is what the hype and build up is all about, the long awaited Kingdom Heart 3 to the home console (the PS4) and what this means for Square Enix’s future in its beloved franchises.
