The women’s soccer team is on fire with one of the best records in the entire state. They have a 13-0-2 record and are 7-0-1 in conference. Their only conference tie belongs to another top-10 team, the Heritage Huskies. The Wildcats have been a great road team, starting 9-0 in away games.
The team has been getting production from everyone from sophomores to senior captains. The leading scorer for the Wildcats is Katelyn Burnette with 15 goals, through 15 games.
Senior defense Caroline Boone has contributed a lot on the defensive side of the field. Boone said, “Our success has come from the preparation and mentality we enter games with. On games we play well our mindset shifts into a new level of focus far before kickoff. Personally, my success has come from pushing myself to play for my team and not just myself. I know if I work hard and remind myself that my effort will positively impact the team then it makes it much easier to work to the best of my abilities.”
Senior Goalie and Dickinson College commit Lauren Hollis has been stellar with a 64 percent save percentage and 7 shutouts through 15 games. The defensive side of the ball has been locked down, giving up only 9 goals all season.
Millbrook’s previous game was senior night against Wakefield where they dominated from start to finish winning 3-0. They are poised for a top seed in the east region and look to keep their historic season up as true state championship contenders. They have their final home game on 4/22 against Knightdale, who is currently 0-15. Their final regular season game is away at Panther Creek 5/8.
