In the spring of every school year, Millbrook High School holds Student Council officer elections. Each grade level has a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Social Media Liaison.
Many rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors helped in the election process by submitting videos that played in class on April 26. All the teachers took time out of class to play the videos that were shared. The candidates took the time to carefully record themselves to show the student body why they should vote.
Once the polls close, the entire school is filled with wonder of who will represent their class in the upcoming year. Nearing the end of the school day, the announcement is made.
The sophomore officers for 24-25 are Sinclaire McGlown as President, Reagan Jordan as Vice President, Caley Rountree as Secretary, and AJ Hooper as Social Media Liaison. The Junior officers will be Kennedy Rivers as President, Teagan Evans as Vice President, and Rachel Bartholomew as Secretary. The future Senior Class officers will be Sawyer Graham as President, Lila Needham as Vice President, and Sophia Martinez as Secretary.
Future Junior class President, Kennedy Rivers wrote, “The school truly feels like home to me and I am glad to be able to do what I can to make it feel that way for others. I am excited to get to plan activities and meet new people in the next year!”
The Millbrook Executive Board (MEB) is the council that serves all of Millbrook as a whole. The winners of these positions will be the officers of the entire student body. The MEB President will be Giovanna Hunter, the Vice President will be Dulce Marban, the Secretary will be Megan Pickett, and the Social Media Liaison will be Lucy Ellis.
Senior class Vice President, Lila Needham talked about how she plans to make Millbrook a better place and said, “Listening to the voices of my fellow students and advocating for their needs and concerns.” She later mentioned how she would do that, “Whether it’s organizing events, addressing issues, or implementing new ideas.”
The Millbrook students should know and understand that the officers who serve them want to do their best to share the Millbrook spirit with each and everyone who walks through the doors.
