Prom is more than just a night of dancing and fun with friends; so much preparation is needed, and the day of is spent tirelessly preparing for a night of fun. Here’s a peek into the build-up to prepare for a glamorous night, followed by what a night of dancing and fun looks like.
The day started off early with each girl packing up everything they needed for the day. Makeup, hair tools, dress, shoes, etc. After that, Kayleigh Prather, Spencer Margaret Johnson, and Hannah King met to take a trip to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s to get flowers for bouquets, along with a trip to Hobby Lobby for ribbon. While Johnson, Prather, and King ran errands for the bouquets, Sophia Lavalle got her hair done and then picked up lunch for everyone at Everbowl. Once everyone finished their errands and what they needed to do, they all met at Kayleigh’s house to begin preparations for the night to come.
The girls ate their acai bowls and then got started on their bouquets. King did hydrangeas, tulips, baby’s breath, and greenery for her bouquet. Johnson also did hydrangea, baby’s breath, and greenery, but she added some pink roses to tie in with her pink dress. Lavalle did hydrangeas, baby’s breath, and greenery, along with some yellow accent flowers and white tulips. Lastly, Prather did yellow roses, baby’s breath, greenery, and the same yellow accent flowers that Lavalle used. After the bouquets were put together, each girl added a ribbon around the base of the bouquet that matched the color of their dress.
Now that the bouquets are done, it’s time to start getting ready! King got started on her hair right away so that she could help Prather with her hair. King did a blowout and then curled Prather’s hair. Johnson curled her own hair, and while they all did that, Lavalle got started on her makeup. Once everyone finished their hair, they got started on their makeup. After about an hour and a half, their hair and makeup were done, so it was time to get dressed. Prather wore a beautiful pale yellow dress that had ruffled details and a small cutout in the middle. King wore a strapless navy ruffled dress, and Johnson wore a sleek baby pink dress. Lavalle wore a long, dark green dress that had a beautiful train. Each girl wore gold heels and gold jewelry that complemented their dress perfectly.
After they were all ready, their dates arrived to pick them up and headed to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary to take pictures. They took pictures for about an hour and a half, and then it was time to go to dinner. They had dinner at Nantucket Grill. They ate food, laughed, and hung out until it was time to go to the dance. The dance was at North Ridge Country Club, where everyone was dressed up and ready for a good time. Some people arrived in party buses, vans, limos, or just cars. But some took it to the next level by arriving in a helicopter and a horse drawn carriage.
At the prom, everyone danced, took pictures, caught up with friends, and had a good time. There was a DJ, decorations, lights, snacks, and so much more. Everyone had a fun time and got to enjoy themselves until their feet hurt. After about two hours, the group decided to head out and go back to Prather’s house to hang out after a long, busy day.
After a full day of excitement and memories, the night finally came to a close. From early morning errands and getting ready, to dancing and having fun, the girls made memories that will last a lifetime. Prom is more than just a dance- it brings everyone together and celebrates friendship and community. As they kicked off their heels and chilled at Prather’s house, tired but happy, it was clear that the best part of prom was getting to be together and having fun.
