Coachella is one of the biggest musical festivals in the United States each year. Celebrities, influencers and fans all come to watch their favorite artists perform with elaborate costumes and sets. The attendees and performers both follow an unspoken dress code that is judged harshly after the event by fellow fans. The outfits have always been a large part of the festival, but in recent years social media has allowed for more people to view and judge what the performers and fans wear each day. Lady Gaga headlined on the main stage both weekends of Coachella and brought many amazing looks. Dressing in over 13 different outfits, Gaga had fans speechless after every new outfit change. Her looks channeled her inner goth with dark reds, blacks and blues, as well as buckles, ruffles and collars. Some of these looks included a large red ruffled dress that fell down around a cage, a black lacy bodysuit and veil, a red vintage Dolce and Gabbana buckle jacket, and the silver bolero and crutches from her “Paparazzi” music video. Most of these looks were matched with a different wig, one of them being a short, black bob that matched perfectly to the little mini black dress Gaga wore. While some might say Gaga was over the top, in reality it is exactly the dress code that is expected for the crazy event that Coachella is.
Another performer that stole the show with their stage presence, and most importantly, their outfits was Benson Boone. He began with a white two piece with light blue detailing throughout. The top was a short sleeve cropped shirt that had light blue belt pieces on the top. The pattern continues on the side of the pants with four pieces of fabric that are tightened in a belt buckle. Boone’s other outfit was a blue sequin one piece jumpsuit that had a deep v-neck. It was paired with a white belt, and blue and white shoes. Boone is showing that fun Coachella outfits don’t have to be limited to women. With fun sparkles and designs that caught the eye of everyone in the crowd, Boone’s outfit was definitely a favorite for many.
One famous influencer that got a lot of attention is Charli Damelio. Known on tiktok for her famous dances and the Hype House, Damelio makes sure to arrive at Coachella in fun and different outfits each year. This year she showed up in all black, with a floral patterned top and a skirt adorned with fringe. Hanging from the skirt are various feathers which allows for the outfit to be elevated from a basic black set. While she only posted two outfits from this year, fans continued to post and comment about this black outfit. Junior Kala Corbett said, “I really like Charli’s outfit and Alix Earle. They were definitely the best dressed influencers.”
One of the biggest known influencers for his Coachella outfits is James Charles. In previous years he has worn full jean outfits, black leather bodysuits under fishnets, and most notable, his western chaps. This year Charles made a video of him getting into the outfit and addressed his outfits from past years. This year he went for a less controversial outfit with dark jeans and a one shoulder top that looks wet even though it isn’t. While tame for him, it was still one of the better outfits of Coachella. Matching the sparkly bag, there are sparkles and pearls attached around his shoulders, arms and pants. He also connects the outfit together with a big pearl bracelet. Overall, Charles understands that Coachella is for fun outfits that can’t be worn in everyday life, and he exceeds the expectations.
While this list includes just a few of the beautiful and elaborate outfits from Coachella 2025, there were many performers, influencers and fans that went all out for the two weekend event. Some celebrities chose to dress in simple jean shorts and tank tops, but it is the elaborate outfits that make Coachella the festival that it is.
