Chris Martin, the frontman of the band Coldplay, called out fans caught ducking out of view on the concert’s jumbotron during Coldplay’s ‘jumbotron song´ where the band sings about the audience members who appear on the screen. Martin jokingly announced they were “either shy or having an affair” during his July 16 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
¨Oh, look at these two. You´re alright…¨ Martin said in the viral clip. ¨Either they´re having an affair or they´re just very shy.¨
The moment was captured on video and spread like wildfire across social media. Their questionable reaction of frustration at being seen together
sparked curiosity online, with people trying to identify the mysterious pair. The couple, a blonde woman and a gray-haired man, who were caught at the concert embracing, were later identified as Andy Bryon, CEO of the data company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer at Astronomer.
The viral video shows the pair appearing on the big screen with Bryon’s arms wrapped around Cabot. The embrace quickly ends when they realize they are on screen, resulting in Cabot covering her face with her hands and Bryon ducking completely out of view. Bryon and Cabot were both confirmed to be married at the time of the concert, and were indeed having a workplace affair.
Within days of the debacle, Andy Bryon resigned from his position as CEO of Astronomer, with Kristin Cabot following not long after with her resignation from the position of Chief People Officer. The company responded to the controversy on X, stating, ¨Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.¨
Astronomer also stated that the co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Pete Dejoy, will serve as interim CEO of Astronomer until they find a replacement CEO.
Cabot filed for divorce from her husband on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, triggering the ongoing court process. The next hearing is scheduled for November 26. Neither party has been open to sharing much information about the proceedings.
In light of the public attention, Kristin Cabot’s husband, Andrew Cabot, spoke out about the nature of their relationship. A spokesperson for Andrew Cabot told PEOPLE magazine that the couple had been “privately and amicably separated” for several weeks before the controversy. Andrew Cabot, 61, is the CEO of Privateer Rum, an American Rum company. He has two children from a previous marriage and hopes this provides respectful closure to the speculation, allowing his family privacy following this incident.
