The end of the aux cord

The most anticipated iPhone so far has a variety of mixed opinions among Apple’s customers. It is water resistant, has a stereo style speaker system, a clearer camera, and twice the battery life, but it lacks one small thing: a headphone jack. The loss of the headphone jack has a large amount of Apple’s fanbase upset, as most millennials do not have Bluetooth to play music in their car. Also, the vast majority of people cannot afford, or are not willing to spend money on very expensive Bluetooth headphones, totaling over $150. The other features, however, have many consumers extremely excited.
The home button is new and improved; now in a solid-state it is nonmoving, making it less prone to breaking or wearing out. The water resistant feature also has many fans and customers excited. No longer will people need lifeproof cases to protect against water damage. Senior Cal Teachy said, “My main hope for the new iPhone is that it does not break as easily. Almost everyone who has had an iPhone has had their screen shatter at some point or another.”
Another exciting feature is the new camera. The iPhone 7 comes with a twelve megapixel resolution camera, the same as the 6s’s. The face camera above the screen also has improved from five megapixels to seven. The jump of the face camera was not as great as the 6 to the 6s, going from one point two megapixels up to five, but the face camera on the iPhone 7 is only one megapixel lower than the regular camera was up until the iPhone 6s. People are also wondering what the second lens on the iPhone 7 plus’ camera means. The extra lens is a telephoto camera, which increases the resolution of pictures while zooming in. Junior Greg Griffin said, “It’s sweet because if you get it dirty you can just wash it off; it is a lot faster and the camera is noticeably better.” The fresher look is another feature exciting the fanbase. Coming in one new color, jet black, it also maintains the matte black, silver, rose gold, and gold colorways.
The stereo style speaker system adds speaker outputs to the top of the phone, making it two times louder. When on phone calls, listening to music, or watching videos, it allows you to hear them much more clearly and louder. The only complaint so far is the phone call audio, some users saying that the person sounds distant, as if the noise is coming from behind the phone. The increase in battery life is due to an A10 chip, which also doubles the processing speed compared to the iPhone 6s. This is due to a more efficiently running processing trip, using about one fifth of the power as the previous generation. All of these features are exciting to almost any Apple fan, and the company hopes this can be the best selling iPhone ever. With the iPhone 7 plus having already sold out from retailers the day it was released, Apple is already on track to making the most successful iPhone yet.
