From IB, to leading DECA meetings, to being a Service Club inductee, Jessica Tomlinson is involved in many aspects of Millbrook High School. Senior Jessica Tomlinson describes Millbrook as “a place where everyone is able to be involved in what they are interested in.”

Tomlinson started right from the get-go during her freshman year and was selected to be a member of Millbrook Executive Board, (MEB). Today, she has worked her way up to the leadership position of Student Body Secretary. “I love MEB. It’s been the most rewarding activity I’ve been involved in at Millbrook. I enjoy planning, executing school events and being a leader for the student body.” Ms. Fonke who has served as MEB’s advisor describes Jess as “extremely hardworking” and is “always looking for ways to make Millbrook a welcoming home for everyone.”

Along with MEB, Jessica has played a key role in DECA. She has been competing since freshman year and has gained an abundance of knowledge about the business and marketing world. She took on a leadership position her junior year as Vice President of community service for the DECA chapter. Jessica says that she has “loved having the opportunity to plan service events for the chapter.” This past year, Jessica was appointed to President of  DECA for the 2016-17 school year. Her responsibilities include planning and leading chapter meetings for over ninety people. This is a very time consuming ordeal considering all the members she has to account for.

Tomlinson’s atheletic record emcompasses cross country and the swim team for three years. Her participation in National Honor Society, Math Honors Society, Non-partisan Debate Club, Key Club, and Millbrook’s representative for the WCPSS Superintendent’s Student Leadership Council  reflects the extent of her dedication to Millbrook.

Outside of school, Jessica is heavily involved in her church’s youth group. She has traveled to Jamaica, Arkansas, and Philidelphia doing mission work alongside her friends. Senior Jordan Stallings said, “Jessica is a selfless and compassionate person who has a calling for service.” Stallings has accompanied Jessica on numerous trips and service activities within their youth group. Jessica enjoys outdoor activities including going on hikes with her friends and spending time at her beach house in Cherry Grove. On Friday nights you can most definitely find Jess cheering on the Wildcats along with all the Maniacs. She is most commonly known as the Maniac mom.

Jessica’s commitment combined with her academic excellence makes her a well rounded student and has reached all quarters of Millbrook.
