Deshaun Watson suffers torn ACL
November 2, 2017
Deshaun Watson, quarterback for the Houston Texans, suffered a torn ACL during practice Thursday. The injury occurred during a drill, without contact, and was determined to be a full tear. This means that he will be out for the year. Backup quarterback Tom Savage will take over starting responsibilities in light of Watson’s injury.
Watson, the tenth pick in the NFL draft, has been lighting up the league since his first appearance in week two. His 19 touchdown passes are tied for the league lead. He also recently passed for over 402 yards against the highly touted Seattle Seahawks defense, also known as the Legion of Boom. A candidate for the Rookie of the Year, the injury will prevent him from continuing his campaign.
