Monday morning, the news broke that Henry Windsor, formally known as Prince Harry and fifth in line to the English throne, is now engaged.  It is to none other than American actress Meghan Markle, best known for her role on the TV series Suits. The couple went public back in November of 2016 and made their first public appearance together in September of this year. It has been announced that the two plan to get married next year in the spring and will then live together at Nottingham Cottage in London, on the grounds of Kensington Palace. This engagement is groundbreaking for the Royal Family for a variety of different reasons. The most historically significant is that Markle was raised a Catholic, as up until 2015 it was actually illegal for any members of the Royal Family to marry a Catholic, as they are the head of the Protestant Church of England. It also marks the first royal marriage to an American, a divorcee, an actor, and a woman of color.
