May is National Salad Month, and there could not be a better time to scope out the tastiest salads in Raleigh. If you are looking for a new go-to salad order, there is a wide variety of options you may want to check out in order to diversify your diet or find a few new and convenient dining locations.

It is no secret that Chopt Creative Salad Co. has a wide-ranging menu that offers something for every salad-lover. Chopt has a countless list of toppings for custom-made salads, as well as a unique range of “destination salads,” which are salads inspired by various locations around the world on a monthly rotation. This month’s destination is Thailand, featuring the crunchy thai market salad, the green curry meatball bowl, and the shrimp summer roll salad. “Chopt is one of my favorite places to go for lunch because it’s always fast; plus, it’s in a convenient location,” added sophomore Sarah Stotts. All of Chopt’s salads are finely chopped- hence the restaurant’s name- and none of their salad dressings use sugar. Chopt is located on Falls of the Neuse Road in the North Ridge Shopping Center and is open from 10:30 to 9:00 Monday through Saturday and 10:30 to 8:00 on Sunday.

If you are looking for something quick, Crisp Salads is a great go-to. Crisp gives generous portions of salads ranging from a classic chicken caesar salad to a bold southwestern Santa Fe salad and a tasty mediterranean salad. Just like Chopt, Crisp finely chops their salad ingredients and mixes it well. Located in the food court at Crabtree Valley Mall, Crisp is perfect for when you are in a rush or just in the mood for a quick and inexpensive meal.
