Decoding astrological signs
May 27, 2020
Many of us may find ourselves getting excited every few days to check our horoscopes and see what the universe supposedly has in store for us during the upcoming week. However, on the other hand, many people believe there is no truth to the findings presented in our weekly horoscopes and therefore may find the concept of astrological signs silly. While our horoscopes may not always be correct, our astrological sign can say a lot about the types of people we are.
There are twelve zodiac signs that are given to us based upon the position of the sun, moon, and planets during the time of year in which we are born. Each sign includes a unique set of personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and attitudes that often line up with the personalities of people who are born within each astrological time period. Junior Casey Parzygnat said, “I am a Capricorn which suits me well because I love family, tradition, and music. I believe I got my work ethic from my zodiac sign because I always get my work done as Capricorn’s are apparently workaholics, and our dislikes are almost everything at some point.” Each astrological sign falls into one of four elements; water, fire, earth, and air. Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) have more emotional and sensitive tendencies, as opposed to fire signs (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) who tend to be more passionate and temperamental. The earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) are usually grounded individuals, while air signs (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius) tend to be very social and intelligent.
In addition to these four element categories, each zodiac has many defining traits. Some of these traits are well known, such as Pisces’ knack for creativity or the passion of a Scorpio, but there are many traits accustomed to each sign that many people do not know anything about. For example, it may come as news to some that Geminis are more likely to win the Nobel Prize or that Aries tend to have a scar of some sort on their faces. This is due to the fact that as children they are more likely to rush into new activities, often leading to literal head injuries.
Astrological signs also provide insight into personal romances. Many people try to help themselves from falling for someone whose sign is not compatible with their own. This ideal goes further, as many astrology fanatics believe Venus to be the planet of love, harmony, and affection. Venus also tells us about the powers of attraction. For men, this means a lot in reference to the type of women he is physically attracted to, while a woman may look to Venus to understand what qualities she should possess in order to attract a man. Other celestial features may also hold romantic truths, such as Neptune, which holds the key to our emotional needs, the Moon, which illuminates our emotional needs, or Mercury, which holds the key to communication. Ancient legends tell us that when all of these things are aligned, it is entirely possible to find true love.
Astrology can say a lot about our personalities, romantic lives, and strengths and weaknesses. Our astrological sign, as well as the position of the moon and planets, can reveal a lot about our futures.
