Valentine’s Day is coming up and love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is slowly but surely approaching  and what better way to spend it than watching the perfect romance movie. 10 Things I Hate About You and Love, Simon are highly adored love stories guaranteed to make you shed a tear. 

  10 Things I Hate About You is based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. Ever heard the term polar opposites? Meet the Stratford sisters, Kat and Bianca. Kat Stratford is an ill tempered loner who is always ready for a good debate. However, her younger sister, Bianca, soaks up the spotlight at school and desperately wants a boyfriend. Bianca is the symbol of beauty at her high school, so who is stopping her from getting a boyfriend? As Bianca would put it, her social reject of a sister. Their father has a rule that Bianca can only date if Kat does. This rule leads to the whole plot of the movie. The guys that want to go out with Bianca pay Patrick, the school bad boy, to go out with Kat. Patrick pulls all the strings to take out Kat, and she puts up a good fight. This enemies to lovers story is full of drama and plenty of romance for Valentine’s Day. 

  Love, Simon is another amazing movie to watch on the day of love. The film is highly acclaimed for its representation of gay teens. Everyone deserves a great love story, even Simon Spier. When emailing with an anonymous guy becomes a daily habit, Simon realizes he is falling in love with a stranger. Blue, the anonymous boy from his school, posts about the struggles of being gay as a teenager. Simon opens up to Blue about his own struggles and their emailing becomes more and more frequent. Their secret connection is great, but Simon wants them to be more. So what is stopping him? No one in Simon’s life knows he is gay, so what will happen when one of Simon’s classmates sees the texts?
