Music Now: What Artists are Coming to NC This Year?

For plenty of people, 2022 is going to be the year where things go back to normal. With mask mandates turning optional in North Carolina, people are rediscovering their favorite things to do, especially with the return of concerts. After rescheduling and canceling tours and dates in 2020 and 2021, artists have finalized their dates for this year. The following are the artists who plan on coming to North Carolina:
Greensboro Coliseum Complex
On April 5th, Justin Bieber, Jaden, Eddie Benjamin, and Teo will be performing at the Greensboro Coliseum. Bieber is performing for his Justice world tour, which will include popular songs such as “Peaches”, “Ghost”, and “Lonely.” Along with Bieber, here are a few more popular artists to look forward to:

- Banda MS de Sergio Llzárraga on Saturday, May 21st
- Alan Jackon on Saturday, September 10th
- Iron Maiden on Tuesday, October 25th
PNC Arena
On April 9th, Bon Jovi will be playing at the PNC Arena. The group will be performing as part of their United States leg of the tour with songs known as “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “You Give Love A Bad Name.” Including Bon Jovi, here are the following artists planning to play at the PNC Arena this year:
- John Mulaney on Sunday, May 22nd
- New Kids on the Block on Friday, July 22nd
- Shawn Mendes on Saturday, July 23rd
- Rage Against the Machine on Sunday, July 31st
- My Chemical Romance on Friday, August 26th
- Greta Van Fleet on Tuesday, October 18th
Red Hat Amphitheater
April 21st, Lil Durk is scheduled to be performing at the Red Hat Amphitheater for his 7220 tour. Known for his hip-hop and rap style music, tickets are selling fast for Raleigh with only eight tickets remaining. Here are a few other artists to expect at the Red Hat Amphitheater:

- Marren Morris on Thursday, June 9th
- Big Time Rush on Friday, July 15th

Dreamville Festival
On April 2nd, 27 artists will play at Dorothea Dix Park in Raliegh. This festival contains not only music but food vendors of local cuisine. Dreamville was established in 2019 and featured many local and national artists, and now it is coming back for 2022. A senior at Millbrook said, “I’m really excited about going to Dreamville and concerts now coming back around because I haven’t been to any concerts in two years. I’m really looking forward to seeing the artists in person and seeing everyone dancing.” The next festival will contain the following artists:

Coastal Credit Union Part at Walnut Creek
On April 23rd, opening with The Coral Reef Band, Jimmy Buffett will be playing at Walnut Creek. For his tour Margaritaville, Buffet will also be playing his hit song “Margaritaville.” After his tour was canceled in 2020, fans are excited to finally see Buffett. Besides Jimmy Buffett, the following are artists who plan on performing at Walnut Creek:

- The Lumineers on Tuesday, May 24th

The Ritz
On March 22nd, the band Beach House will be performing at the Ritz. For their Once-Twice Melody tour, fans expect to hear “Once Twice Melody” and possibly their most popular song “Space Song.” Other artists expected to come to the Ritz this year include:

- Jerry Cantrell on Saturday, April 9th
- Mt. Joy on Tuesday, April 12th
- The Band Camino on Friday, April 22nd

With plenty of artists coming to North Carolina, fans and others alike are thrilled about the return of live music. People are still hoping other things will return this year, but the excitement of future concerts this year is enough for plenty of fans across North Carolina.
