Missing Taylor Hawkins, Everlong

In the middle of a South American tour and moments before a concert in Bogota, Columbia, the death of legendary drummer Taylor Hawkins was announced. Hawkins was 50 years old, and a part of the rock band Foo Fighters along with Dave Grohl from Nirvana fame. The death was unexpected for the band and fans across the world. The Foo Fighters had just released a movie in previous months, and most of 2022 was booked by the band for touring. On Friday evening, first responders were alerted that Hawkins had been experiencing chest pain, and a private doctor had been on the scene attempting to treat and resuscitate Hawkins, but all efforts were unsuccessful. The Foo Fighters posted on their Instagram account on Friday to inform fans of the tragic passing saying, “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
Primary toxicology reports have stated that Hawkins was found with 10 substances in his body at the time. A few included THC, antidepressants, and various opioids. It was reported that, “The National Institute of Forensic Medicine continues the medical studies to achieve total clarification of the events that led to the death of Taylor Hawkins.”
Hawkins was part of the Foo Fighters for twenty five years, following being the drummer for Alanis Morissete, and had released multiple solo projects. He was beloved not just by fans, but by celebrities and other members of the music community. Stevie Nicks posted a picture of her and Hawkins to her Instagram account dedicating a poem to the late drummer and saying, “He had a huge heart and a glorious smile. When he walked into the room, everyone looked up. When he left the room, everyone was sad.” Alice Cooper also made a post with the caption: “There’s no one else like him. He was one of the great characters in rock and roll, beloved by all who knew him, and certainly one of the greatest drummers of his time.” Hawkins was a vital part of the Foo Fighters, and will be remembered and missed by fans and music lovers across the world.
