Argentina Wins the World Cup for the First Time in 36 Years

The World Cup began November 20th, 2022 and ended December 18th, 2022. The World Cup started with 24 teams and came down to France against Argentina in the finals. In regulation the score came to 2-2, and at the end of overtime the score was 3-3. The game went into penalty kicks where Argentina won 4-2 against France. The game lasted a total of 120 minutes which included a thirty minute overtime.
This is the first time Argentina has won the World Cup since 1986. Lionel Messi, number 10, helped lead them to this title. He has been on the team for 17 years and until now they have fallen short. Now Argentina has won the World Cup Championship after much excitement around the game.
