Celebrating during a parade during their last Stanley Cup win, Sidney Crosby holds the Stanley Cup above his head. The Penguins have won the cup in back-to-back years, and this is Crosby’s third time hoisting it in celebration.

Last night the Pittsburgh Penguins won the 2016-2017 Stanley Cup, making them the first team to win back-to-back championships since the Detroit Red Wings did so in 1997-1998. The Penguins won last night’s game against the Nashville Predators in Nashville,  ending the series 4-2. The Conn Smythe trophy given to the playoff MVP each year was given to Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby. The goal leader for the playoffs was fellow Penguin Jake Guentzel, who is a rookie. The goalie for the Penguins, Matt Murray, was on the team last year but was still considered to be a rookie this year, which lead to him being the first goalie ever to win two cups as a rookie.
