Gabby Sadosky is a dedicated member of the Millbrook community, which is why she has been chosen as a “Spectacular Student.” Gabby is currently a junior here at Millbrook High School and is known as a student athlete. Being able to balance good grades, succeeding in sports, and having a social life is a challenge but, Gabby never doubts her own potential. She has a great support system at home stating, “My parents have been very supportive because they were both student athletes so they understand how hard it is to balance school work and athletic training.”
Even with a busy schedule Sadosky is still a part of clubs at Millbrook; which include FCA and MEB. FCA, also known as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, has meetings every Wednesday before school and they do things like make care packages for the community. Her involvement in The Millbrook Executive Board is important with the planning and organizing of events like homecoming and winter bash dances. Each and every club at Millbrook holds importance and dedication for the time and effort put into them.
Sadosky is a player on the Millbrook Women’s Varsity Soccer Team and plays forward. She has been on Varsity all three years of high school and is one of the leading goal scorers. Her teammate, senior Lauren Milne said, “I admire Gabby’s passion for soccer because she gives 100% at every practice and game. It is clear she wants to play to the best of her abilities and she always helps to bring good spirits to the team.”
Outside of school she plays for North Carolina FC Youth and is on ECNL. With her athletic abilities she is also a part of Millbrook’s JROTC. Sadosky learned her leadership skills from this program. She is a part of the archery and raiders team and has travelled to compete in various events. She plans to attend a four-year college and continue to do ROTC.
Even with her hard work on the field she maintains good grades and was on A/B honor roll freshman and sophomore year as well as A honor roll throughout her junior year. Her favorite class has been AP Statistics with Mr. Anderson because of how engaging the class is. She not only has made a positive impact on her teammates/peers but also her teachers. Former Millbrook Spanish Teacher Ms. Wells was a great role model for Sadosky. She said, “When I had her class she always prioritized her students’ mental health and made sure we were all comfortable and happy in her classroom, which I greatly appreciated.”
With her success Sadosky’s main tip to help manage juggling many things is to stay organized. She uses a planner to keep track of her schedule and always keeps a good “work-life” balance and prioritizes things that make her happy. Her advice to those younger than her is to explore every interest and don’t be scared to be different. Being a responsible and hard-working person in the Millbrook community is applauded, congratulations Gabby Sadosky!
