For decades, the cosmetic brand CoverGirl has been known for its slogan “Easy, breezy, beautiful, CoverGirl.” However, the company announced this morning on their official Twitter that the motto we know them by is changing. The slogan has been changed to “I am what I make up.”  This slogan change represents the change CoverGirl is going through as a whole. The brand states that the new motto was created to celebrate the “power of who you are, and who you want to be.”

Since 1961, the brand has been a household name for cosmetics products. Though it is primarily known for making the classic makeup look accessible to the everyday woman, in the past few years, CoverGirl has modernized their look. They have made an effort to hire models of all colors and shapes, and introduced their first male model last year. The changing of the famous slogan marks the official rebirth of CoverGirl as a brand that represents everyone.
