With winter break coming closer every day, many people are getting excited for the long-awaited break filled with holiday traditions, spending time with friends and family, and getting the chance to catch up on sleep. One of the best parts about winter break is the new movies that will hit the theatres, bringing joy to all of their viewers. This winter break, Cats and Jumanji: The Next Level will be released into theatres. These movies are expected to be highly entertaining and will capture the hearts of their audiences, making them a must-see over the break.

  The first movie that is sure to keep the audience smiling because of its singing, dancing, and comedic aspects is Cats. The screenplay is based on the Broadway hit musical of the same name. Additionally, it will showcase songs from the musical including “Memory” and “The Jellicle Ball.” The storyline follows the Jellicle Cats, a clan of diverse felines. The main conflict of the film is the cats attending the Jellicle Ball and the leader picking a lucky cat to get to be reborn on the Heaviside Layer. The film is rated PG and stars Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Cordon, Jason Derulo, and Rebel Wilson. Senior Bryan Alaezi is excited about the film and said, “I want to see Cats because I think it is something diverse that will be shown in theatres. Also, I have heard many good things about the Broadway Musical.” If you want to see this movie, it will be released in theatres on December 20.

  One of the most highly anticipated movies of the year will be in theatres this winter break. Jumanji: The Next Level is the latest film of the Jumanji series to be released. The magical video game Jumanji is broken, and in order to save Spencer and Bethany, their friends must travel back inside the game. When they return, nothing is the same and they must relearn how to survive. The group must face the jungle in order to beat the level, save their friends, and fix the game. The film stars Karen Gillan, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black. This motion picture is rated PG-13 and is now in theatres. 

  With all of the excitement during winter break, make sure you save time to catch the best movies of the year in theatres.
