For the first time since the fourth Super Bowl, the Chiefs have won the Super Bowl! After a tough battle against the San Francisco 49ers, the Chiefs managed to come out on top with a final score of 31-20. With the help of Kansas City’s amazing offense, the team was able to fight back and win the Super Bowl LIV.

When referencing the Chiefs, one of the first things that comes to sports fans’ minds is Patrick Mahomes II. Mahomes is arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks in the National Football League, averaging approximately 8 yards per pass attempt all season. The Chiefs led the league with 18 passing plays of about 40 yards. This is Mahomes’ third season playing for the Chiefs and his first winning the national title. With a total of 4,031 passing yards and a ‘team before self’ mindset, Mahomes was the right leader to take this team to the championship.

The game got off to a great start with Mahomes running the ball into the endzone with 31 seconds left of the first quarter. With 5 minutes to go in the second quarter, the 49ers tied the game to finish the half. Gaining a 10 point lead, the 49ers scored at the end of the third, awaiting the rest of the game. At the end of the fourth, the Chiefs managed a run by Williams to the endzone, with a final score of 31-20.

Many believed the Chiefs would come out on top this year, and after the win last Sunday, it was obvious that the they had this game in the bag. Senior Owen Reynolds commented that “after seeing the Chiefs dominate the Texans, I knew that a Super Bowl win was inevitable.” Although the 49ers have had success this year, no one can underestimate the power of the Chiefs.
