Artists are human. After they die, the legacy they live through is their music.
Juice Wrld, also known as Jarad Anthony Higgins, passed away from an accidental overdose on December 8, 2019. The star was successful before his untimely death, and had a vault of unreleased music.
His record label, Grade A Productions, kept these songs, collabs and talent behind the vault waiting to celebrate the rapper’s life.
They put his music into an album called ‘The Party Never Ends’. It was released on November 29, 2024 and features collaborations from Nicki Minaj, Eminem, and Fall Out Boy, just to name a few. Lil Bibby, the co-founder of Grade A, told Forbes that he felt “…right to just end it on a good note like this.”
Lil Bibby also pointed out that the songs on this album felt “like a celebration” instead of his regular sad, or darker, songs.
Many students at Millbrook High School grew up listening to Higgin’s music and were hit hard by his death.
One student in particular, Krystah Horne, a senior at Millbrook, has been listening to Juice Wrld since 2018.
When asked about how she felt about this album, Horne said she felt it was “interesting and impactful”. She found it amazing that even after his passing, there was still a lot to hold on to from the artist. Horne also said that out of all 19 songs, her all time favorite in the album is “Love Letter”, a song focusing on weakness and the complexity of love.
This album is one of three that have been released since 2019, ‘Legends Never Die’, released on July 10, 2020, and ‘Fighting Demons’, released on December 10, 2021.
Out of the believed thousands of songs that have been kept in the vault, only 63 were released, leaving the question: are these all his songs? We may never know, as ‘The Party Never Ends’ is his final album, marking the end of an era for a legend.
