The group Loud Music Company typically consists of a larger band with added singers, guitarists, and percussion. However, vocalist Lilly Triolo (left) and guitarist Michael Cole (right) still gave a magnificent duo performance.

One of Raleigh’s most popular music venues, The Ritz, hosted an almost sold-out show for the band Saint Motel last Thursday, April 11. The first of two openers for the show was a group called Loud Music Company which featured the beautiful vocals of Lily Triolo, a 2017 Millbrook graduate and alumni of the school’s choir program. Triolo performed alongside Michael Cole, a vocalist and guitar player based in Wilmington, NC.

The two were the first to start the show, warming up the crowd while audience members grabbed drinks and bought merchandise. Their music was primarily indie rock with a distinct soulful twist that had concertgoers moving and grooving. Triolo’s vocals were crisp and clear with a delightful twang, and she captivated viewers with a subtle yet engaging stage presence.

Being a Raleigh local, performing at The Ritz was particularly special to Triolo among the other shows that she has performed with Saint Motel. While on stage, the singer commented, “This is crazy, I actually grew up going to shows here.” Several of Triolo’s old teachers, family, and friends were invited to attend the performance and got to see her on the big stage.

Triolo sang in Millbrook’s choir program and was a member of the highest group: Madrigals. Eddie Adams, Millbrook’s current choir director and Triolo’s old teacher, said, “She was crazy talented. I don’t think she was ever a section leader, but her vocals and her music skills were always spectacular.” Triolo certainly hasn’t lost that musical ability and is proudly showing it off at venues across the country.

In addition to being Loud Music Company’s main vocalist, Triolo is also credited as a lyricist on several songs of the band’s newly released album, “Live from Thalian Hall.” The collection of songs is all recorded live at Thalian Hall in Wilmington and perfectly displays the band’s performative energy. The band’s biggest songs from the album were performed at The Ritz and included “I Didn’t Mean It,” “I’m Just Walking,” “Song About You,” and “The One.” All of these songs are perfect first-listening opportunities for the band and show off the group’s range, musicality, and overall catchiness. Loud Music Company has another show with Saint Motel on April 15 as well as several solo shows in Raleigh and other North Carolina towns. Find their information at www.loudmusiccompany.com.
