Students enrolled in AP and IB courses are currently prepping for exams. IB exams begin April 24 and will continue through May 20, 2026. The IB exams are required for everyone within the course to take. The exam is graded on a scale of 1-7 with 7 being the highest score that can be received. Out of this score range, a 4 is typically considered passing on an IB exam. If an IB exam is missed for an emergency such as sickness, family emergency, etc, bring proper documentation to Millbrook’s IB coordinator, Dr. Kristen Gentile.
AP testing begins on May 4 and goes through May 15, 2026. AP testing is scored on a scale of 1-5 where 5 is the highest score that can be received. Out of this range, a 3 is considered passing on an AP exam.
AP and IB test scores will be released in early July.
With IB exams starting so soon for students, many Millbrook students have begun prepping in class as well as outside of school.
IB Diploma Programme junior, Caroline Raigans stated, “I’m preparing for my AP and IB exams by reviewing my notes and going over past assignments to make sure I understand everything. I’ve also been doing practice questions and looking at old exams to get used to the format. I try to study a little each day instead of cramming so I actually remember it. I also focus more on the topics I struggle with so I can improve before the test.”
“As IB exams are nearing I am taking it upon myself to schedule time to review and study on top of my final worksheets of homework. Using the review guides that the teachers provide is a good way to start reviewing and preparing. Looking at notes you’ve taken throughout the year also is great to warm up your brain and get it moving. My favorite way to start preparing is creating and or finding quizlets online as there are features provided to help you test your knowledge,” said IB Diploma Programme senior, Kat Cruz.
AP exams are also growing closer as well as IB exams. Millbrook students continue to prepare for those exams as well.
Millbrook freshman, Hayden DeShong says she is beginning to prepare for her AP exams by, “Watching a bunch of review videos on whatever topic I’m studying for that day and then I do all of the practice questions that are in my textbook.”
Overall, students around Millbrook, the country, and the world are beginning to prepare for exams as they grow closer. Millbrook students are taking advantage of the resources given to them by teachers in classes, online, etc, to be well-prepared for these rigorous tests.
