On September 15, 2024, one of the biggest award shows took place in downtown Los Angeles The 76th Emmys was held in the Peacock theater at LA live. The Emmys honors the best American prime time television shows and actors. Aside from the awards, the red carpet is a big part of the Emmys. The red carpet showcases actors’ looks and styles, giving them opportunities to express themselves outside of television.
Many of the looks from Sunday night were channeling old Hollywood glamor and wealthy fashion. Actors from ‘Baby Reindeer’ showcased some stunning fashion as they wore looks from Rodarte, Loewe, and Gigi Goode. Actress Jessica Gunning wore a stunning black gown with light blue flower details while Richard Gadd wore a black tux on top and a green and blue kilt on the bottom. This was a large statement piece. Selena Gomez from ‘Only Murders in the Building’, wore a gorgeous custom Ralph Lauren dress (featured to the left) with Tiffany & Co. statement jewelry. Gomez’s co-star Meryl Streep wore a McQueen rosy pink suit that certainly caused a lot of attention.
Some of the most eye-catching looks from the night had to be Greta Lee in a stunning Loewe white gown with Aquazzura shoes and Tiffany & Co. royal blue and silver earrings with matching ring. Quinta Brunson served a breathtaking look with a black gown that had intricate details. The gown was Georges Chakra Couture and she paired it with simple Tiffany & Co. earrings. A more vibrant look was Chardae Robinson in a bright
pink large gown with details of puffy sleeves, small flowers, and a hot pink train. Designed by Jovana Louis which was paired with Miraco jewelry. One of my personal favorites was Kristen Wigg in a gorgeous gold and silver Oscar de la Renta (featured to the right) paired with simple but elegant Chopard jewelry.
While everyone looked amazing, some showed off simpler looks than others. Juno Temple wore a vintage Roberto Cavalli that was very simple but still sophisticated. Another of the more simple looks was Molly Gordon in just an effortless black gown.
Martin Short and Steve Martin wore the typical but classic and timeless black suit and tie (featured to the left) but many of the men shocked us by steering away from the norm with more outside of the box looks. Dan Levy spiced up the tux by pairing a statement under shirt customly designed by Loewe. Chris Perfetti wore a sheer flowy white and black top with slacks which certainly made a statement. Tiktok star, Chris Olsen wore a fiery red suit paired with some fun glasses to add more detail to his look. Lastly, Ru Paul stole the show with a bedazzled suit paired with a cowboy hat and very detailed boots.
Everyone looked amazing in their own looks but one jaw dropping moment was Eiza Gonzalez and Rita Ora accidentally twinning in stunning pink Tamara Ralph gowns (featured t0 the right). The actress and the singer also both completed their looks with a pink feathered floor-length coat. While they both looked stunning it certainly caused an uproar with the matching looks.
The Emmys is all about the actors and all of their accomplishments but the fashion of it all really brings everyone together and gives opportunities of free and personal expression.
