Tom Petty dies at age sixty-six

On October 2, 2017, Tom Petty was rushed to UCLA Medical Center, where he later died from cardiac arrest. Petty was found unconscious in his Malibu home Sunday night. Petty was best known for being the lead singer of rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, with numerous hits like “American Girl,” and “Free Fallin’.” The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Finishing the band’s 40th anniversary tour, Tom Petty played his last show at the Hollywood Bowl last Monday. Petty even said he thought that this may be his last world tour. He was sixty-six.
