Excited to become a stay-at-home father for his two children, Mr. Cope will be leaving Millbrook at the end of this school year.

Rumors have been abundant lately that MHS is losing a popular humanities teachers at the end of the school year. Today, those rumors have become fact as the coach of the Women’s Lacrosse team and AP World History teacher, Mr. Matt Cope, announces his departure.

Mr.Cope will officially be leaving Millbrook to become a stay-at-home father for his first born child, Carter, and his daughter who will be born later on this year. For those who know Mr. Cope, he is a family man who he speaks of both his wife and son whenever he has the chance. However, he rarely speaks of his unborn daughter since he wants to prevent himself from announcing her name, but her impending arrival was definitely a factor in his decision to leave Millbrook, the school that he has called home since 2010. To those who plan on taking AP World History or playing Women’s LAX, be prepared to expect a different teacher this upcoming school year.
