October movie madness
October 16, 2015
Halloween is a great time of the year with the candy, the costumes, and the movies! This Halloween do not miss the new movie Goosebumps. Goosebumps brings all the books you read as a kid to life, and it will bring you goosebumps! In the movie, R.L. Stine (played by Jack Black) writes the Goosebumps books and traps all the monsters inside of them. Zach Cooper then moves in next door and meets Stine’s daughter, Hannah (played by Odeya Rush). Zach (being played by Dylan Minute) accidentally opens the books and releases all the monsters. Goosebumps has been in theaters since October 16, but if you hurry, you can still catch it in theaters for a limited time. Goosebumps is rated PG.
Every year Halloween also brings new TV special events like the 13 nights of Halloween on ABC Family. The 13 nights of Halloween started on Monday, October 19, but you can still catch it tonight through Halloween. This year the repeating trends include The Hunger Games, Casper, and Hocus Pocus. In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen has a crazy journey in her dystopian society where she has to fight to live in the 74th annual Hunger Games. Casper is about the friendly ghost we know and love who goes on a great adventure with his new human friends to cross his three ghost uncles to the other side. Finally, we have Hocus Pocus, one of the most well-known movies of Halloween where three witch sisters are restricted from the grave in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night and two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat must end their reign of terror. The 13 nights of Halloween are looking like they are going to be great!
The month of October also has some amazing anniversary, including the 30 anniversary of Back to The Future! October 21 was the day that Marty and Doc went to in Back to The Future! Back to the Future originally aired back on July, 3, 1985. Marty and Doc jump 40 years into the future and ended up in 2015. They get to see many futuristic things like hover boards, and holograms all around. The future is not as futuristic as in the movie, but like the movie says, “The “future” NEVER comes, anyway, because TODAY is YESTERDAY’S TOMORROW, and it’s also TOMORROW’S YESTERDAY. Think about it.” The movie was a huge hit, and the movie is still in the top 500 movies on IMDb! If you would like to watch the movie, you can order it on DVD from Netflix and enjoy your movie history this month.
