Florida deputy shoots a suicidal man upon arrival

This past Tuesday, March 21, a Pasco Sheriff’s Office Deputy shot a man threatening suicide that already had a self-induced gunshot wound.

The Deputy received and acted on the call of a man threatening to commit suicide at around 6:20 pm. He responded by arriving at the Fox Wood neighborhood of Trinity in Florida. Deputies claim that a gunshot was heard from inside the home and the man that called had intentionally shot himself. A deputy confronted him and shot him upon entry into the home.

The man was given immediate medical attention at the scene of the shots and was transported to the nearest hospital. The condition of the man is unknown as officials haven’t released anything regarding him, the name of the deputy who shot the man, or any other supporting details. As of now, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating this case and the officer who shot the man is currently on routine leave.
