After years without new episodes from Full House and The X-Files, most would agree that revivals are certainly overdue. Thanks to Netflix and FOX, these returns have been made a reality.

The X-Files returned to TV Sunday, January 24. This sci-fi TV show has gained multitudes of crowds since its initial debut in 1993 on FOX. The X-Files first returning episode scored a total of 21.4 million views on opening night along with a 7.8 star rating from age groups 18-49. The views came from the new episodes’ wild spins, including cliffhangers, conspiracy theories, and many nostalgic nods to the original series.  This left room for new twists and turns in the plot. Senior Karl Boynton said, “It’s literally the best show ever, and the new episodes are different. They tried really hard to attract a new audience in a different way, but it is still really great.” Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson emerge once again as world-saving FBI agents, dealing with raging epidemics, alien abductions, and virally induced resurrections. The mini-season finale episode has left viewers with a cliffhanger after the mysterious abduction of a main character, hinting at the possible  return of a second new season.

As for Fuller House, make sure to turn to Netflix tomorrow, February 26! After nearly twenty years without the shining faces of Steph, DJ, Michelle, and Danny Tanner, they are back. Even though Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were not able to be in the new series, John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Candace Cameron Bure are some of the few that will be returning. The recent spin off takes place at the same place in the same house, just every character is older. Fuller House’s producer is certainly alike to The X-Files’; It is fine tuned to what they think fans today want to see. Online reports from People Magazine revealed small details about the first few episodes. The episodes are said to have to do with babysitting, school, and puppies. DJ is now a widow and mother of three who is seeking help from her family with her life. Kimmy and Steph step in to help her when things become too difficult.

In addition to The X-Files and Fuller House, The Gilmore Girls is anticipating a return as well. After nearly ten years, most of the cast of The Gilmore Girls has determined to revive another beloved TV show. Not much information has been released, so for now, keep on the lookout for more news on the show.  Now that the time has come for reboots, fans everywhere can have one last final fix of a few old classics. Whether the show is the same as the original or not, it is a revival, of course. Grab a bowl of popcorn, get comfy by the TV, and get ready for your favorites to return.
