As winter creeps around the corner, the holiday spirit begins to kick into high gear. Everyday, more and more holiday shows make their way to the Triangle. There are the more classic shows like Cinderella and A Christmas Carol that appear every year, and there are shows that do not appear as often, like Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas. If you are having trouble deciding which shows you want to see, here is your guide to holiday shows in the Triangle.

The first show to appear in the Triangle is Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. It starts on November 27th and goes through the end of December at the Duke Energy Center of Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. The television classic comes to life on stage with all your favorite characters in an adventure that is sure to amaze audience members of all ages. The returning musical will have almost 40 performances, and tickets are going fast. For more information, go online to Ticketmaster or stop by the Duke Energy Center Box Office. November also brings Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas The Musical to the Durham Performing Arts Center. Starting November 29th and going through December 4th, The Grinch will once again make an appearance on stage in the musical rendition of the beloved Dr. Seuss book. Max the Dog narrates as the Grinch decides to steal Christmas to enact his revenge on the Whos. Featuring the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” the show is sure to blow audiences away this holiday season. To get tickets or for more information, make sure to check out the DPAC website.

Moving into December, Raleigh Little Theatre brings another beautiful classic to stage, Cinderella. From December 2nd through 18th, you have a chance to check out the show that has been amazing audiences for over 30 years! The musical comedy has a special magic that wows audience members every year. Along with Cinderella, December also welcomes the 42nd  anniversary of A Christmas Carol. Ira David Wood III’s musical comedy returns in its 42nd  year as an experience that has been shared with over a million people. Throughout its history, A Christmas Carol has toured through Europe, has won the Triangle Arts and Entertainment Reader’s Choice Award, has been named one of the top 20 events in The Southeast, and has won the Metro Ovation Award. Theatre In the Park is bringing this show back to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts this December 7th  through 11th  and the Durham Performing Arts Center from December 15th  through 18th. If you are in need of the holiday spirit or just want to get out of the house, any of these amazing shows are sure to blow you away and give you a good time. Make sure to get your tickets before they sell out. Have a happy holiday season!
