Be our guest and head to the theater this month where you will be able to catch reboots from your childhood, Beauty and the Beast and Power Rangers.

Beauty and the Beast is being revitalized by Disney and already has a huge amount of hype behind it. Instead of the animated approach that the original took, the 2017 version blends live action and Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). The story follows a man who is imprisoned in the form of a Beast. He can only be freed by true love. A possible opportunity may arise when Belle, the only human who has entered his castle, arrives. Belle and the Beast gradually fall in love, but Gaston, the antagonist, wants to kill the Beast and claim Belle as his wife. The movie features  Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and actors like Ewan McGregor and Emma Thompson, (who play Lumiere and Mrs. Potts respectively) portraying the magical beings that inhabit the Beast’s castle. Excitement has been building for a while, and pre-sale tickets have already suppressed several superhero movies, who are normally unmatched in presales, and Finding Dory, Disney’s previous hit movie. The movie is also directed by Bill Condon, an Oscar winning director. The movie is rated PG and is scheduled to release tomorrow, March 17.

Another, if slightly less anticipated movie remake, is Power Rangers. If you did not watch Beauty and the Beast as a kid, it is likely you have seen Power Rangers. There are many new actors in Power Rangers. The main actor will be Daniel Zovatto, with other new actors playing roles of the other Power Rangers.  Famous actors like Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks also star in the film.  The movie seems to follow a similar plot to the show, with the Power Rangers being recruited to face an enemy. However, this movie has generated less excitement than Beauty and the Beast. “I honestly don’t think it will be good” says sophomore Matt Bryan, “some shows should remain in the past.” Power Rangers releases March 24 and is rated PG13.

No matter if you are excited for a romantic movie or an action film, these two remakes from our childhoods are coming to theaters soon. So catch Beauty and the Beast, a tale as old as time, and Go Go see Power Rangers!
