Last night, on Sunday, October 1, a shooter opened fire at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, into a crowd gathered for a Jason Aldean concert. The first shots were heard at around 10:08 p.m. PST (1:08 a.m.EST), and several SWAT teams immediately responded. Shortly before midnight, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced suspect was no longer active, and they did not believe there were any other shooters. In the aftermath, it was announced that at least fifty people were killed and over five hundred were injured in the incident; which is now labeled as the worst mass shooting in American history. The police have identified the shooter as 64 year old Stephen Paddock, who was found dead on the thirty-second floor of the casino with ten automatic weapons. Police are unsure of the motive behind the shooting, however, it has been ruled out as linked to any international terrorist group such as ISIS.
