The 2018 World Series will be a  battle between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Red Sox won the American League pennant, and the Dodgers won National League. Each team played in two series before getting to this point and are now just four wins away from the epitome of their sport.

 The Red Sox finished the regular season with a record of 108-54, putting them atop their division and the entire league! They made it to the postseason with the help of their outfield, made up of all-star Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley, Jr. and Andrew Benintendi. Betts was their best player throughout the season and is being considered for the league MVP. However, their excellent play did not stop in regular season; the Red Sox went on to continue this team success in the playoffs. In the first round, the American League Division Series, the Red Sox played their long time rivals, the New York Yankees. They made quick work of them nonetheless and went on to win the series three games to one, including a whopping 16-1 victory in game three. They next faced the defending champion Houston Astros in the ALCS. Things looked shaky for the team as they lost game one to the ‘stros at home; but the team bounced back and won four straight games to capture the American League pennant. They then awaited to see who they would face in the World Series for all the marbles.

 That team ended up being the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers did not have as easy of a time getting to this point, however. Like most every year since the team acquired him, Clayton Kershaw led the Dodgers with his stellar pitching! The team finished with a record of 92-71, just one game ahead of the Rockies. Kershaw pitched the team to nine of those wins. Then in the postseason has won two more games so far. The Dodgers first played the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS,  who they beat three games to one, and faced little to no trouble. However, in the NLCS they had a little more on their plates. The Dodgers faced the red hot Milwaukee Brewers, who pushed them to the brink of elimination. The best of seven series went to a game seven in which the Dodgers had an intense win in which sent them to the World Series.

 These two teams play tonight in game one of the World Series at 8:09 est, and you can catch it on TBS. These two red hot teams are sure to play a good series and anything can truly happen. Most experts are predicting the Red Sox to win it all, and senior Jonathan Galloway agrees to their statement adding, “The Red Sox are a much better team. I feel like they’ll win easily.” Only time will tell if this prediction comes true.
