Although being stuck at home is not ideal for a spring day in late April, there are still many activities you are able to do. Something that you can do over this quarantine break is to have a picnic! Thursday, April 23, is National Picnic Day, and it is a great time to go outside with your family, or by yourself, and celebrate with your very own picnic!

The first thing you want to do is find the spot where you would like to have your picnic and grab a blanket or some lawn chairs. Set up your area, and head back inside to grab some snacks. Since you want to stay home as much as you can with little outside contact, there are snacks that you can make with foods typically found in your household. In addition to your chips and popcorn, there are many other easy snacks that even you are able to make, and it only takes a couple of minutes. One healthy alternative is an easy fruit salad which can be made by combining all the fruits in your house. There is no wrong way to make one, and it is super easy, healthy, and quick. Sandwiches and wraps are another great and healthy option. You can choose your ingredients based on the items that you have in your own home.

Once you have your snacks and your setup, find things to do during your picnic. While chilling outside with your snacks and the beautiful weather, there are many ways to keep yourself busy. You can create a playlist with some new music and listen to something you never have before. Another way to pass the time is to pick up a book and keep your brain activated. If you are feeling creative, there are many free coloring pages that you can find online. There are lots of other creative outlets such as painting, drawing, singing, and dancing; all of these are fun ways to show your creative side over this quarantine.

Have fun with this and get creative; just make sure you are staying safe, and try to stay home as much as possible!
