Wilma is Millbrook’s very own mascot. Students are happy and excited when they see her around campus.

Ever seen the wildcat that calls Millbrook her home? Three years ago, a teacher here at Millbrook, Mrs. Beach, found a cat roaming around the school campus. Mrs. Beach says, “I was worried so I took her straight to Ms.Goblet to see what she could do.” Ms. Goblet is the animal science teacher here at Millbrook and one day was given the amazing task of taking care of this cat. This cat had to have a name, so Ms.Beach came up with the name, Wilma. Wilma then became a part of Millbrook’s animal team at school. With this cat being at the school, the animal science kids get to have a hands-on activity on how to take care of a cat. Students check her water daily and also feed her during class. Students also get to experience what happens at a veterinary office. Wilma’s nails are trimmed, and her ears are also checked just like at a vet office. Ms. Goblet keeps tabs on Wilma each day to make sure this cat is healthy, and that nothing bad happens to her.

While Wilma is a member of our animal family, she is also a beloved member of our Millbrook family. Students usually see her in the courtyard, and she lights up people’s faces with joy. Junior Natalie Ray says, “I like how free-spirited she is and she is also very tolerant of other people. She is friendly and lets other people pet her.” Wilma is super popular on campus, so students decided to give her an Instagram account. Find her Instagram on @wilma.at.millbrook.

Wilma has had a huge impact on Millbrook, but also made another huge impact in our agriculture department. Ms. Goblet says, “It is my hope that Wilma continues to be a positive addition to our agriculture department. She is my working barn cat that does a fantastic job.” Wilma is not only a furry friend that roams around campus; she also helps to take care of our school by doing any jobs Ms. Goblet feels she is capable of.
