Winter storm Delilah has now entered the northwestern part of the United states and is to be bigger than expected. Throughout the week, many states in the north and middle western parts of the country are expecting heavy rain, snow and gusting winds. Since Tuesday, over 11 million people have been placed under a winter storm warning.

The storm will reach 50 to 60 mph winds or even possibly 80 mph. The heavy snowfall will also make it very difficult to travel and there are power outages expected as well.

The National Weather Service believes snow totals will reach to about one to two feet and even possibly reach higher levels. Most of the snow will be in mountain ranges across the west. In the midwest, states such as Wyoming, Montana, Iowa and Minnesota are also under a blizzard warning. California and more northern states are also under avalanche watch as well. By the end of the week, forecasters expect the storm to have reached Maine and parts of the east coast.
